Monday’s Comic Will Be Up Tuesday

May 12th, 2008

Etc etc etc, you know the drill.

BTW, FanimeCon is in just a few weeks, so while I’m still gonna do new pages (real life issues permitting), I’m gonna start getting the ball rolling on getting myself set up for FanimeCon. One of the big things I need to work on for this con is a new set of Moose River Book Ones. I’ve pretty much sold out of my copies of the Second Printing that I got for last Otakon (although I have five with no covers on them). So now I need to get the ball rolling on revising pages for the Third Printing. The Third Printing will also be the one where I try something else in terms of sales; I’m going to buy myself like 50 copies of the Lulu.com edition and sell them for $8-$10, while the handmade versions will be sold for $16-$20. This is mostly just to gauge buyer interest in paying a premium for a handmade copy. Hopefully it works out! 🙂

The page revision for the Third Printing will also include a total page revision for the site. I’ve been somewhat tired of the halftone effect of the pages, and apparently a few other people have been as well. However removing them from each page as well as changing the automated Photoshop Actions involved in the process was a bit too much effort for the end effect, so I just stuck with things. But since I’ll be revising pages for the book, I might as well just work in the “remove the halftone” deal with it. This’ll also include a page renumbering as well.

On a sidenote, I must say I enjoy working on these site revisions like this. Apart from the fact that it gives me something to do, it also one of the few times I ever feel like I’m working towards actually completing something, as opposed to just perpetually rolling a boulder up a hill like I have been at work or school. I used to do constant revisions back in the day with my old Pokémon website, with a total of nine unique versions in like five years, as well as my personal site Nick15.com, which is currently in version thirteen since its inception in 1997. [blinks] I can’t believe I’ve been dabbling in web design for eleven years now. [walks away slowly]
