ムース川の日本 – iWant iMac

Sunday, February 20th, 2005

OK uhm… after a lengthy conversation with my friend Jimmy concerning a few things about Muusugawa no Nihon, I feel inclined to clear a few things up about it.

Muusugawa no Nihon, if you can’t tell already, is straight up satire on the psudo-manga/gamer web comic format. It is not meant to try to get people to stop doing it, nor do I expect anyone to even read this for it to matter. However, it still doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be allowed to voice my opinions on the issue nor do a comic about it, regardless of its ineffectiveness. I guess people can argue that it’s a waste of my time to do it, but hey, it’s not like I’ve got anything better to do. … Oh yeah, I COULD be doing Moose River Regular instead. Oh well.

OK FINE, I’ll also admit that I’m taking the oppurtunity to experiment with changes in my comic writing style. As you may notice, Muusugawa no Nihon’s comic frames are different than Moose River Regular’s. It’s probably not something I’m gonna use much in MRR, but I think I’ll use it in one of my future Moose River projects.

Oh and I do want to point out that this won’t be the last experiment I’ll be doing of this nature. Though next time, I promise myself that I’ll be far more discrete about its true intentions that I have been about Muusugawa no Nihon. It’s difficult to test a theory when everyone knows its true reasons. :)

It’s cool.

Plippy (Feb 20, 2006, 3:00):
Y’know, in retrospect, I should have used Haisha for this scene and not Chijin. Oh well.

Oh and folks, swing by the Shop page, I added the cover for the (inevitable) Muusugawa no Nihon mini-comic.

uschi (Feb 19, 2006, 23:45):
puh-leeeze! as IF anyone would be stupid enough to buy any game system from the first shipment.

Plippy (Feb 16, 2006, 17:49):
Timbosister: Not yet, mostly because A: I can’t find it anywhere, and B: I never had a reason to read it even though I know I should. … I’ll probably make it my next book then. :)

Timbosister (Feb 16, 2006, 17:14):
Have you read Frank Miller’s Ronin? The girl Casey says something similar near the end of it. Or maybe she doesn’t. Maybe I’m confusing everything remotely japanese. In any case, it is a good graphic novel.

Plippy (Feb 16, 2006, 14:05):
A friend of mine who is helping contribute material to this silly side-project.

Stupid (Feb 16, 2006, 13:24):
Sorry I’m stupid, but who is Jimmy Cannon?

Plippy (Feb 16, 2006, 2:05):
Oh yeah, and once again, credit goes to Jimmy Cannon for Chijin’s creed.

uschi (Feb 19, 2006, 23:44):
omg leet.

Plippy (Feb 15, 2006, 13:26):
Just FYI: the site might be getting a minor update sometime soon. Nothing major, but I plan on moving a few things around (namely the links on the top of the page to either the left or right side).

AmbrMerlinus (Feb 15, 2006, 6:05):
Your manga project seems to be going well so far. I can’t wait to see how the experiment turns out.

ムース川の日本 – Stop… Hammer Space!

OK, at this point the comic is on its own. I’m done hyping up Muusugawa no Nihon, but give it some time for it to run its course. Moose River Regular comic will return in a few weeks.

BTW, I think there’s enough people regularlly visiting the site, so I encourage everyone to swing by the message board. Please?

uschi (Feb 19, 2006, 23:40):
I am unsure if you are merely being facetious. In any case, IIRC someone explained to me once that a nosebleed means “lust” and thus, paired with “splurt” is, in fact, high potty comedy.

Plippy (Feb 14, 2006, 11:00):
Timbosister: It’s a nosebleed! Only… a nose bleed splurt. :D

Timbosister (Feb 14, 2006, 9:20):
What is with the splurt?

Plippy (Feb 14, 2006, 1:34):
You can’t believe how much time I’ve spent scouring MegaTokyo, Apple Geeks, Mac Hall, Chugworth, and… all the rest. I feel so dirty, three showers won’t be enough to rid myself of this FILTH. … Interesting to note, I actually finished two other comics (#5 and #6) today. This shit is just too easy to write for, there is absolutely no challenge! … Though I will admit that this change in art technique (sketchy versus crude) is a nice breather. Although I won’t use it for the rest of Moose River Regular, I probably will end up using it for the future Moose River books. :)

So… Anime… (x.@)
