EDIT 20080918: This and the next page is the only time in the story that goes against one of the style rules I set for Moose River. The thing is, Anne, Avery, Shea, Betty and Emo are the five main characters. Everything this story records is recorded because it is what those five people see, hear and experience. If something, on the other hand, doesn’t involve those five people in any way, nor are they around to see it happen, then it is not recorded in the story. This conversation between Brian and Jessica, however, is the only time where something is happening and none of the five main characters are around to experience it. Despite that though I still think it’s kinda necessary for the progression of the story; without it I think you readers would be missing out on an important piece of story. Hmmm!

BAH! I’ve been having too much fun lately. I gotta cut it down.

OK, here’s comic #99. Today also marks Moose River’s second anniversary! Although this current leg of this has been around for a year (which also started on 9/4). So… 100 pages in one year? That’s not a bad rate. I could afford to do more, though. We’ll see how the next year goes.

Eh, lame.

Yay! First new comic in over a month! Huzzah!! This should get the ball rolling for new comics.

Chapter four is just around the corner. This is when the story will be less “slice-of-life”ish and more like… uhm… an actual story.

Remember, the comments thingy is no longer active, so if you want to say something nice about today’s comic, you’ll have to do it on the Moose River Forum. OK?? PLEEEEEEZE??!

Alright…. OK let’s see. First, my vacation has been over for a week now, but I’ve been extremely busy with catching up. Working and all that. I haven’t done a single Moose River Regular comic at all since the last one, and I don’t plan on doing any until I’m done with this server move.

Oh yeah, about the server move. I found a better web host than Fuitadnet called Dreamhost. I got this deal where I can host unlimited domains and subdomains as well as have like… 25GB of space and 1TB of bandwidth for like $10 a month. Which is nice because I’ve got a shitload of domain names which have been unused for a while because Fuitadnet only let me use two of them. I’m currently in the process of moving over to the new server. When that’s done, my business website, P-Tip Productions as well as Moose River will make the transistion. You’ll know it’s being worked on if both sites are down… it’ll be down for like a day or so while the domain names are being transfered. So like…. when Moose River is down, you’ll know why.

Once I start getting the ball rolling on regular comic updates again, I’m gonna go through the entire archive and update it to look similar to “today’s” comic. As you’ll notice, I’ve 1) added greytone to the page to sort of make things look a little bit more visible, 2) typed the dialogue, and hopefully now it’ll be a lot easier to read, and 3) changed the bottom text bar. Hopefully these changes will make it a bit more readible. The UN Security Council issued me an ultimatum; I should type my comic, or else I will be invaded in order to comply to the UN’s wishes. :)

Also planned is a site redesign, although I still think the current design is good enough. Maybe I can just use what I’ve got and fix it up a bit. In any case though, I’ve permanently disabled the simplistic comments thingy. It was fun and easy, but I suppose it was a bit TOO easy to use, as spammers figured out a way to automate spamming. Beh. Anyways, I’m not gonna delete what’s already been commented, but I would instead encourage you to hang out at the forums more often and discuss my comic there. OK? :)

So yeah… pardon the dust, I’m still working hard and shit. New comics soon….

Last night Emo gave me those

OK, here’s the deal. I’m spending the rest of what free time I have left packing and getting some last minute stuff done. Just a reminder, I’m gonna be gone for two weeks between Chicago and New York City Baltimore, visiting friends and running a booth at Wizard World Chicago. So I won’t be able to get to any new comics while I’m gone, but I WILL most likely be doing more comics while on vacation. Then of course I’ll post them as soon as I get back. I plan on having Chapter 3 done while I’m on vacation. Let’s see if I can do it.

BTW, if you’re checking me out for the first time after finding out about Moose River at Wizard World Chicago, WELCOME! I hope you’ve enjoyed what comics you might have read so far. If you bought copies of Moose River Regular #1 and #2, you can pick up where the mini-comics left off here.

As for the rest of you guys, take a load off, relax, and enjoy this little fake DVD box cover I made for the Criterion Collection version of Moose River the movie. :)

Oh also, when I come back from my vacation, the Moose River site will be down and not uptated for a little while. I decided to switch from Fuitadnet to Dreamhost (especailly since Dreamhost has this pretty awesome hosting plan). I didn’t want to do the move before vacation, mostly because I didn’t want the site to be down during Wizard World Chicago…. so when I come back, it’ll be moved. OK? So at least this time when it goes down, you’ll know why.

Forgot to ask, are there really only 12 or so folks reading this? I almost find that hard to believe…

Well I got to thinking

OK, everything is done with. My summer is over, my trip to Chicago and Maryland has been over, the site transfer from Fuitadnet to Dreamhost is done with… basically now I’m ready to start up the comics again. After a month. Hope you enjoyed this little break!

The fun part now begins as I go through my archives and slowly reformat all my old comics to the new format seen here. I spent all of last night changing my Photoshop Actions from the old style to the new style. As you’ll notice, the comic is now simply called Moose River. I’ll reflect this change throughout the site later.

Sleep. More talk later.
