Happy Fourth Birthday, Moose River!

September 6th, 2008

Hey, I just realized that right around is Moose River’s fourth birthday! Pretty nifty, huh? To be specific, this site and the domain name came into existence back in September 2004, however it was built for Moose River Regular, which lasted only some thirty-three pages. The current story started on September 4th, 2005, one year later and three years ago this last Thursday.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported me and my work these past few years, especially to all my fans and visitors who have made working on this comic extremely worthwhile.

Moose River won’t, however, be the longest project I’ve continually worked on for another thirteen months or so. That distinction is still held by my other project, Pokémon Aaah!, which lasted from April 1999 until May 2004… sixty-one months straight through (more or less). Though to be technical, Moose River did come into existence back in July 2003, sixty-two months ago.

Moose River also isn’t the project that has outputted the most material; that honor goes to PA! again. However one fake card does not equal one comic page. I suppose the time and effort required to make two fakes is equal to that of one comic page, but I will admit that there has been several times where I did spend the same amount of time–or more!–on a single fake card than I have on a single page of comic. With this in mind, the 450-someodd fakes is maybe worth 225 comics, when adjusted for inflation? With the current story at page 184, as well as counting the thirteen pages I did for Muusugawa no Nihon and the thirty-three for Moose River Regular, that puts me at 230 pages. So maybe I’m currently equal with the number of fakes and comic pages I’ve done, pound for pound. But I’m still under the sheer number of 450 fakes to my 230 comic pages. Oh well, that’s just some shit to think about there.

Anyways, once again, Happy Birthday Moose River! Thanks to everyone who has been reading it for so long, and hopefully it’ll last another three years! (^^)
